Utah Continues Spring Football As Backup QB Battle Heats Up

cam rising in a Utah football uniform is a sight for Sor eyes even if it's just Spring football for now how he returns from his knee injury that's a big question this offseason but maybe an even bigger question is if Cam goes down again who will be the one to step in Isaac Wilson enrolled early at the U he's participating in Spring ball competing with Brandon Rose for those second team reps Rose missed also also missed all of last season with an injury but so far this spring he's looked pretty good coach Whittingham praising him for showing more confidence and command of the offense and Wilson for pushing him for those valuable reps last year he's a little you know hesitant with some things but you know he got in the Playbook and he's really coming along he's making Fast decisions he has a nice arm it looks good uh he's coming along pretty well too taking another step forward there's a great battle going on between him and Isaac Wilson right now for that number two spot that number two QB spot and uh they're both uh competing extremely well and and uh be interesting to see what happens these last seven bre on the other side of the ball the youths have some holes to fill especially in the defensive secondary with both sonaki and Cole Bishop moving on to the NFL the doors open for a guy like Teo Johnson to step into that role a player that ESPN lists as Utah's breakout player to look for this fall the guy that's really catching my eye I think of Tao Johnson Tao Teo looks good Tao I think he's he's going to come along and be a leader of that of our defense you know with Cole and baky leaving it feels good to be recognized by coach Whit but I also have to take with a grain of salt and understand that you know praise never got anybody drafted and so I'm just going to try to go out there and play my hardest and do what I need to do
