Hunter Luepke-Sr Bowl Invite

it's uh not the team it's a pretty big individual Accolade describe what that was like after practice yesterday yeah I mean it was took me by surprise a little bit I mean it's definitely a really really exciting moment for uh me and Cody but uh yeah like you said it's about the team our our goals aren't aren't met yet so mean we got to keep on keeping on he said Jim said the number one fullback in the country I mean describe that hearing that accurately next to your name I mean yeah I mean that's pretty exciting to hear him say but I mean um can't really think about that too much right now um there's a lot that has to go into everything every week so I just got to keep on working what was it what was in the Box what did they what do they have in the actual box though it was just like an invitation letter and a hat and a little uh reesi Senior Bowl sticker so if you accepted it yet I mean I know I think they know it's Cody's accepted his invitation have you accepted your invitation not yet okay what would you describe yourself as a fullback I know we've asked this before but obviously you line up at running back tight end HB I mean how would you if you had to like categorize your position what would you what would you describe it uh probably probably more more fullback and then just trying to be versatile everywhere I can be is there a certain time you have to make the decision on whether you're accepting it or not um that I do not know but what'll go into the decision making process you going to wait till after the season or what you have a timeline for yourself I haven't really really thought about all of that right now I'm try I'm trying to focus on the season still so you've been flexed out at tight end the last couple games as well I know we talked about that in the preseason describe that of being now another position on the field yeah I mean that's something that I've worked on for a long time now being uh being in the crew chief room so I mean it's something that I'm comfortable with and something that I I like doing too so is the pass catching stuff skill you feel you always have or is it something that's developed here um it's something that has I've had to develop over time I mean coming out of high school we probably pass the ball maybe once or twice a game so I mean it's something that I had to work on something that I had to improve every day at practice getting on the jugs and getting with the quarterback so Hunter the last trip to M or M Carbondale um do you care do you even remember about that or anything stand out to you yeah I wasn't at that game but I remember watching it on TV and I mean that still leaves a sour taste my so I mean I'm looking forward to this week of prep and then I'm looking forward to the game on Saturday so um That season you know the the 20120 team that didn't play in the fall if you guys would have played you ever think about how good that team would have been uh I try not to think about that stuff too much to try to think about the here and now but uh we we had special teams back then too and I think we have a special team right now so what do you have to say about Cody obviously a really impressive accomplishment for him as well oh yeah I mean he's a special player great team teammate and a great leader and I mean I couldn't be more happy for him he he deserves all of it so I mean he's he's a he's a really great guy and everybody on the team will say the same thing I mean no one more deserving than he is were you walk on as well I know Cody was were you walk on or were you a scholarship player I was a scholarship okay but what's it for a guy like him to be start as a tight end walk on and now he's an offensive tackle that type of you know yeah I mean I think just switching positions uh in your college career and having that much success with it speaks for itself I mean it he put a lot of time into getting the pass blocking and stuff down doing a position you've never done before is difficult and he's doing it at a really high level and and that just shows you his work work ethic and like love for the game
