[Music] the sports center be giving you guys our 2024 season predictions for the Washington Huskies the team coming off an incredible 2023 season this team won the final Pack 12 Championship made it all the way to the National Championship uh which is where this team took their one loss of the season but you look at 2023 start to finish just an incredible year for Washington but all this team being 2024 and what can we expect out of the Huskies in this upcoming season that's will be T about here today we'll be looking at the Players this team will be losing and returning and perk their schedule top to bottom in this video so with that let's get started with a quick recap of 2023 once again just an incredible season start to finish getting to 14 wins one loss being in the national championship I mean it was just a really great season for this team and if Washington proved anything in 20123 it is that this team can win a National Championship even in this new era of college football this team was in the Pack 12 pack 12 was I will say though Pack 12 was an incredible conference last year it was one of the best years that the conference ever saw uh in college football so for Washington to be moving to the Big 10 now which is already in itself such a brutal conference I mean Washington's got a chance to still be a national Contender moving forward 2024 might be a little bit of a Down year in comparison to this past year but it's still not going to be bad for this team I see Washington being a a true Big 10 Darkhorse Contender like they were last season in the Pack 12 for many years to come but you look at this season in September this offense out of the gate you could tell this offense was going to be an issue for a lot of teams I mean put up 56 on Boise State Boise State was expected to be a halfway decent team last season so for them to beat them 5619 was pretty impressive in itself beat Michigan State in week three um a big 10 opponent there and then you look at it really was that Oregon game on October 14th Oregon coming to town beat them 36 to 33 one of the best games of the regular season really from that point Washington was really considered as a national Contender even though they had a lot of close games down the stretch that was the M Mo for this team they found a way in each of their games down the stretch and before you knew it this team was 12-0 undefeated taking on Oregon again this time for the Pack 12 championship many thought Oregon would take care of the huskys there um and avenge that October loss but Washington proved everybody wrong so many times last season they beat Oregon for the Pack 12 title the final Pack 12 title and then played Texas for the sugar bow beat them by six and then lost to Michigan 34-13 for the national title but once again I mean you can't complain about losing that last game because it was such an incredible and fun season for this team but looking forward to 2024 now with your schedule as we look forward to this upcoming season I mean this is a much different year for Washington you look at how I mean this offense in itself was just incredible when you consider Michael penck I mean Dylan Johnson was an issue in the backfield last season nearly 1400 yards 16 touchdowns plus you consider Romo dun Dylan p in there as well I mean this was you could say the best receiving core in the country last season so this offense losing those key players I mean it's Will Rogers this season who's coming up from Mississippi State and I mean even he's a solid quarterback it's tough to compare him to Mike panck cuz I mean they're just they're just two different players and Mike penck is one of a kind but Will Rogers is a really strong quarterback as well I feel like some are kind of sleeping on this this husky team I mean they're going to be different in 2024 for sure this is a much different team new head coach Jed fish in here from Arizona who clearly turned around Arizona they were strong team in the second half of last season especially I mean so you consider the Huskies I mean they're a much different team that's why they're expected to not be as good the defense is a lot different too but I mean this is still a team to really keep an eye on they could still be a dark horse in the Big 10 this year but you look at the first month of action Weber State on the 31st there pretty easy game do you think you win your first two games for sure against Weber State and Eastern Michigan Washington State apple cup still got that going there that's going to be I think at Lumen field in Seattle so it's a neutral location game I'm going to favor the huskys there as well I do think this is kind of a closer Game Wouldn't it be surprised if maybe the Cougars kind of hung in there for a bit I mean especially with I mean both teams are in much different situations wason's going to once again be a much different team this season so it's going to take a couple weeks for this team to really start to click so that's a good thing that this team really isn't facing any major tests in those first few weeks but North Western first Big 10 match up there and they're probably going to be one of the worst if not the worst team in the Big 10 this season so easy win there I see a 40 St for the huskys no problem Ruckers on the road though most look at Ruckers and think they're going to be terrible I mean but I think Ruckers honestly I think a lot are sleeping on this Ruckers team they could be a I would say a solid 78 win team next year they've got a very favorable schedule I mean even nine wins is not out of the question I think for Ruckers so going on the road there to the east coast clear across the country for a big 10 matchup it's kind of wild to think of it that way but that's a pretty big match up and definitely one that I wouldn't be surprised if Ruckers maybe stole that one from the Huskies but I do want to favor Washington and a close one there but then you got Mig and Iowa the next two weeks I do think he dropped these two uh Michigan rematch of the Big 10 title game two teams in much different situations now I mean Michigan and Washington both really don't have high expectations looking forward to 2024 I mean most think Michigan's going to be still a strong 10- win team at least but I mean that's going to be a that's definitely one of those games that's going to be circled on the calendars but still do think Michigan finds a way to win that one but what an opportunity there being at home that's going to be loud that's going to be a big game there on the 5ifth and then you got Iowa on the road this is one where I kind of went back and forth I do think you you either lose to Ruckers or Iowa I think you at least be one of those teams but there is going to be a loss either against Ruckers or Iowa and I do think it comes against the Hawkeyes I could see Iowa as a strong 10- win team as well uh this upcoming season a strong defensive team their offense was just awful last season I do think their offense will be improved at least uh but either way I do think that's one of those close games that you do lose Indiana on the road though they're going to be no issues so I get you six and two going into November USC at home I do think USC is kind of in a they're in a strange position I think they get to a bowl game this season but I mean just not sure of much else I kind of see them at I would say a similar level to Washton this upcoming season but I do think you find a way against them and a close one pence stayed on the road this is I think it's going to be the white out game that's at least what I heard so it's going to be road at night that's as tough of an environment to play as you're going to find anywhere so I do think you dropped that one depend state but kind of I mean it's that's just going to be such a tough game I just I just can't pick the Huskies there then you got UCLA at home easy win there UCL is in a they're kind of in a challenging position they're definitely the worst off of the four new Big 10 teams um I think that you beat them pretty easily then Oregon on the road do you think the Ducks finally find a way to beat you there on the 30th on rivalry week Oregon's going to be tough next season I wouldn't be surprised if they I mean they are one of those four teams that I really could see winning a national title they are just still so experienced from last season they were I mean you thought they were good last season with the experience they're going to have in 2024 they're going to be tough to beat so I do think you go eight and four next season I think eight wins is very much within reason I see this team it's just a matter of what four games you lose I mean once again I've got Michigan Penn State Oregon those three games are very likely to be losses I think I mean even though that Michigan game is a huge opportunity at home there and then I think he either lose to Ruckers or Iowa and I do have that being to the Hawkeyes there after the Michigan loss but either way I'm still optimistic for the Huskies here I don't see this team being a big contender in the conference but I could see this being one of those strong background teams that could give a pretty good team a run I mean honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this team upset Michigan or Oregon on the road and maybe lost a game that they shouldn't I mean that this team did play up to competition last season they did have a lot of close games against not very good teams but when they I mean they this was a team that was known for playing up to competition that's why they were so good against I mean against Oregon in the Pack 12 title game or against Texas in the sugar bowls so I see 10 wins is the ceiling I think six wins is the floor so I see this team I see this team going to a Bull game no matter what I do think this team will be good enough and I feel like some are definitely sleeping on this team and you I wouldn't be surprised if the huskys still I mean they proved so many people wrong last season I think they kind of do the same this season even though once again it's just a much different year for the huskys as it's very much a a new era a first year of a new era for Washington being in the Big 10 now and Jed fish as the new Ed coach but let
