I heard you T John Legend how to swim too yes okay who's better though me or John I love you John but you know so John Legend it was a couple years ago his pool was shorter okay you out swam him by a lot I did by a lot oh see he had a little little tidy pool you would have done laps around him you hear that on my first try right right say all I need was a little bit of encouragement but you were such an awesome teacher you gave me the confidence and the courage to try it and I knew I was in good hands so I was like let me try you did it you did you yes I had the best time you know what I want to ask you would you like cuz I'm so appreciative of you helping me out so would you like to learn how to [Music] sing no [Applause] no on w w you did not see that he said ooh ooh no you don't want to hear me sing uh I I'll leave I'll leave that to you but since you like did um you stepped out of your comfort zone and learned how to swim next week I will be here at Sofi Stadium doing the celebrity uh flag football tournament so I will be stepping out of my comfort zone and doing flag football uh I'll be like a fish out of the water so I got to put these fins to to the test oo that makes you nervous huh oh yeah okay I don't want to mess up see you'll be all right if you sing a song and your spirit it calm you down and you'll be okay all right be but good luck with that and congratulations all that thank you as well okay tell us when did you first start swimming I first started so growing up in New York um my parents were both swim coaches mhm um so I was always around I was always around the pool deck but I couldn't say hey Mom hey Dad like what's for swim practice today there it was coach and then as soon as we left the pool deck it was Mom and Dad we never talked about swimming so we had two different Lifestyles so I think that's what really helped me moving on throughout my swimming career um and I just kind of fell into the sport the love and passion I have for the water just it was my happy place I love that it was your happy place and kind of fell into the water your modest all you've achieved with it is insane okay now the Paris Olympic is Olympics is coming up and you want to be a commentator for oh yes I would love to be a commentator for the Olympics oh go and pit yourself how would you commentate give us an example o i don't you put me on the spot Paris 2024 Olympics give it to him Ryan Lockes coming to you there go your family is adorable yes do your kids know how to swim have they learned yet uh my oldest son he's on the swim team but he doesn't really like it so much he doesn't like it no but he knows he Lo he wants to just play play swim which I'm fine by that as long as my kids know how to swim that's all I really care about um and if swimming is what they want to do in a career then they can pursue that but um I'm not pushing them I'm letting them make their own decisions but that's a good approach you're a good D too uh I try I try that's nice but yeah uh there's my boy right there man I'm going to start crying I love this a uh yeah so six-year-old boy four-year-old girl and a femon girl oh and how was how was she loves the water she thinks she can swim but she can't but hey Daddy's right there always by the steps making sure she doesn't go down just letting her think that she can't now your wife she loves to like prank you a lot I see it on social media you got to watch your back huh I need some help guys I need to get her back and I don't know how she she comes up with all these tricks all these pranks on me and I don't know how to get it back you have never gotten back she too smart you didn't know that was in there no I thought I thought I was really doing a soda test e it's all over your face right now I could tell yeah cuz I got that like the soy sauce and red hot going down you can still taste it okay listen I love your wedding phone though this was I think this was such a cute idea y'all jumped in the pool uh I mean we I think that's so f for you guys we didn't we didn't jump in I kind of threw her in oh so you did get her backed in I was like hey please don't divorce me over this right now please please please how how was she as a swimmer oh she's a phenomenal swimmer oh okay oh she's a phenomenal she was a lifeguard growing up um so she definitely knows all The Strokes and everything I was like can you tell me what my world record is in and she's like like you got a world record yep I'm like what stroke and she's like yeah s swimy and I'm like that's that's my babe yep a your family sounds amazing adorable if you like this video smash that like button and subscribe to the Jennifer Hudson Show YouTube channel check your local listings or visit Jennifer Hudson show.com to see when you can watch four episodes in your area and don't forget to sign up for the newsletter
